Arisia 2007 Coat Check Report

Department Head: Lily Moore (dosvidaiyaana@yahoo.com)

What did your department do?

We hung coats and took some small bags, trying to not take anything bigger than a backpack.

What went right?

The process of finding everything went fairly quickly and the helpers were helpful.

What went wrong?

Too few gophers(Volunteers) were sent when they were asked for, leading to an almost mental break down. The room is small and I know that you can't help it, but it gets very cramped very quickly. And the room is also kind of out of the way, or rather people didn't know where coat check was until atleast saturday afternoon and there hadn't been many signs up other than right in front of the coat check(I admit this may be my fault so let the next person know).

What should definatley be done differently next year?

Getting the tags color-coded and paired before Thursday and getting the pairs onto hangers before Friday before con, would be a good idea. Also there should be a more specific time range for the "Closed for Masquerade" messgae on the schedule.

Which experiments should we try for next year?

Maybe trying to get better communication between coat check and the volunteer lounge and trying to get part of the little hall way outside the room for a coat rack to open up some space within the room.

If your at-con schedule didn't match the schedule published in the program, why did that happen?

A very last minute change on Sunday to stay open longer.

What "milestones" for your department should be placed on the Arisia timeline?

I honestly can't think of any, other than the ones mentioned before hand.

Any comments about the rest of the con?

None that come to mind.
